...a bitter struggle as the Anglo - Cambro Loyalists dug in to well established positions around Lake Vyrnwy without hope of relief from Liverpool or else where across the border as England fell into post WWII chaos of revolutionary urban uprisings and regional civil wars. An Irish Invasion attempting to liberate occupied 'Northern Ireland' and aiding Independence struggle in Scotland, decided the central London Government support it's loyalist allies in these regions as well as attempting to quell civil disturbances in their mainland areas. London central Government believed Wales was lost and well out of their control or any possibility of immediate relief and thus advised Loyalists to retreat east but they were not about to do so without a fight to a bitter end, partly because the Fflintshire Hywel Gwynedd Brigade had blocked way East whilst from the South 'Red Partisan Brigades were making way North to participate in the driving out of Wales the last major Loyalist threat.
NB: Over the central Mountain in background of photo on left is town of Bala and Tryweryn, you will also find Bwlch y Groes up there, from where you can drive down South into Dinas Mawddwy or down towards Vyrnwy.
