Somebody suggested that an image of Owain Glyndwr would be a suitable icon for a Republican Stamp, why not after all his revolt helped liberate the Serf and Bond Population and they are the ancestors of the People of the Pitchfork. After all if Spartacus and Zapata both of 'noble' background may be admired by the left why not Glyndwr by the Welsh Left and Republicans. However. There are a few others of Welsh of Republican qualification more deserving to be on such a stamp rather than that of native Welsh Royalty. Such deserving of a stamp would be Richard Price, Iolo Morgannwg, Morgan John Rhys, William Jones, Henry Davies, John Frost et al, even and why not Cliff Bere and by way Welsh Republican Colours are not Yellow and Red but are of a Tri - Colour Green, Red and White. Not of my inspiration but a product of WRM I, myself now favours a proposed Welsh Socialist Republican Flag:
As for some Socialist Stamps, why not of Lewis Lewis, Dic Penderyn and Edward Morgan also Dai Cantwr, Sioni Sgubor and Frances Evans. Whilst, I am sure Balchder Cymru would like to see FWA Cayo and Coslett on Stamps. Myself also favour the Abergele Martyrs, Owain Williams and John Jenkins of MAC. Never likely to be, so why not produce our alternative stamps as the Patagonian one Nationalists produced in the 'Sixties' and Gwasg Lolfa did for Owain Glyndwr.
There has been note two stamps produced for Owain Glyndwr to date, a third would be sound but it would be more representative of a Nationalist Cenedl Glyndwr - Cenedl Cymru Rydd not any Welsh Republic me thinks!
If Having read the above you might consider that a Welsh Republic is a no! no! but who knows? Whatever, let us consider some fantasy Alternative History Stamps.
