Adam of Usk in the 15th Century writing of Owain Glyndwr's assault on the English of Gwent, likens Glyndwr to ''a second Assyrian, the rod of God's anger, he did deeds of unheard-of cruelty with fire and sword''. This inspires me to write a fictional futuristic alternate Welsh history story, titled 'The Assyrian Rod' which will be developed in this blog, also given same title. This blog will also promote the writing of alternate Welsh Histories:past, present and future.
We have nothing comparable in our Welsh History that would be a more patriotic, a
nationalist opposition to all this Protestant Welsh - British Loyalism.
So, h
ow about a'Welsh Jacobite Army'
welcoming bonnie Prince Charlie to
Wales as 'Prince of Wales', to see off the Brit Prot Establishment,
that's one for Wrexham, given it's connection to Welsh Jacobitism and contemporary ''Tartan Taffery''. F
or the South, based in Glamorgan what about a ''Welsh Jacobin Army'' rallying to the French landings
at Fishguard to set fourth to Liberate Wales and declare a Welsh Republic.
.
Or an Alternative angle:
..
The story line being what if?Bonnie Prince Charlie had listened to David Morganand had marched into Wales to be joined by leading Welsh Jacobites as Sir Watkins Wyn. There after running around and skirmishing for a while a major battle was fought as the Scottish Welsh - English Jacobite Army led by Hugh Lloyd joined by anIrish Jacobite Armyattempted an Invasion of England. Their route took in Mold on way to first objective Chesterwhere an Anglo -WelshJacobite Force had seized the 'Post Office' in the town under a mercenary opportunist 'CaptainAdam Adventure' However the united Jacobite Army was engaged in an action at Hawarden which turned into a great two day battle (see Gettysburg) that would alter the course of history for Wales, Scotland, Ireland and England plus the World no doubt. Alright you take it from there, noting that one can hold then Alternative History events and so, why not one based on events above and the JacobitevHannovarian 'Battle of Hawarden11 December1745'.

Much to interest you, I was quite amazed how much I began to find out there re growing interest in writting up on this theme. I could have gone on searching but I will leave that to you if you have a serious interest. I would like to draw your attention to below inclusion of a link to Alternate British/Empire history that may be further useful also note links to Welsh Socialist Republic themes below toward end of post, this as already proved to gather to it a number of people interested in this Welsh SocialistAWH theme area, which you can continue to search for.
...
Further,.
I am working on a major Alternate Welsh History Project WALES 1911,this will be quite a major enterprise of which I hope to start posting up as from beginning of July 2010. This project is in two AWH theme area developments, the one a story set in the past covering three post Glyndwr great Welsh Rebellions1529 - 1536, 1905 - 1911 and 1962 - 1969. The other is set in the future between 2010 - 2018. First post will contain yet unseen photos of Camp Dafydd Ifan y Gof aka Camp 1826, Rebel 'Green Shirt' strong hold in the Liberated Zone, some where in the Green Desert of Western Central Cymru.
.
These historic fotos I found in a Cabin Trunk passed down to my mother from her father, a son of a Merthyr Red Commune Rebel. The photos were taken of the deserted Camp182
6 shortly after the 'Green Shirt' Rural Rebels had began their march into Southern Wales, that would lead to their ravaging of the Pontcanna Patagonia in Cardiff and subsequent occupation of Cathays Park. Leading to a 'stand off' with a Welsh Capitalist Government who have ordered the 'Cambrian Army' to prepare to attack the Cathays park based 'Green Shirted' Rural Rebels. At same time in 'Bro Morgannwg' a 'Red Shirt' Workers Army defends the 'Red Communes' of the Rhondda and Tonypandy, Merthyr, Aberdare, Ammanford and Llanelli. This is WALES 1911, be prepared for ages of revolt and rebellion to make up for the lack of such in real time in real Wales!
.
Note in 2011 Wales will also mark the last wave of Welsh Migrants to the Patagonia - Chubet Welsh Settlement in 1911, thus an 100thanniversary which could be marked in Alternate Welsh History Themes possibly as follows
.
