LLANIDLOES CHARTISTS LAUNCH GUERRILLA WAR

In an Alternative/Parallel Universe, in the Country called SALEW, the University of the Peoples Republic puts on display the recently discovered diaries of Ernesto 'Che' Guevara, the popular hero of the Chartist Guerrilla Struggle in the 'Green Desert' of Central Cymru that initiated the beginnings of a long Revolutionary Peoples War of National Liberation. The Chartist Guerrilla Army had decided not to be premature and risk all, in what was to be the doomed Newport Rising but wisely refrained from any confrontation with a much stronger enemy force.

This proved a wise decision, later joined by Chartists in retreat from Newport with what remained of the secret 'Byddin Tarw Scotch', the Chartist Army of Central Cymru soon became a force ready to take on the forces of Capitalist Imperialism. However, first they had to knock out the 'Byddin Rebecca' of Western Reactionary Rural 'Crachach' Separatists based in Ystrad Tywi, this eventually achieved the way lay open for eventual victory via the establishment of a 'Silurian Socialist State' of the Southern Valleys with it's capital based on the Merthyr 1831 Red Commune, under the Presidency of Huwi Lewis.

Ernesto 'Che' was to eventually be killed whilst leading Cymric - Indian forces in their Patagonian National Liberation Struggle against Latino Imperialists........To be continued by anyone with the time to spare, not seriously involved in any pressing present day Welsh Struggle, Socialist or otherwise.

A WELSH WORKERS & CITIZENS ARMY ARISES TO DEFEND A WELSH SOCIALIST REPUBLIC?

It is generally accepted that the FWA fucked up, and was anyway possibly too ''Right Wing'', former Plaid Cymru Researcher, WSRM founder with others plus Editor of Y Saeth Radical Nationalist Magazine, now Gen Sec of Wales Communist Party thought so. But 'WHAT IF?' the proposed Welsh Citizen Army (see Document below, first so light of day about 1967) had actually become something real rather than the imagination of one man, or 'WHAT IF?' Ian Bones 'Class War' had taken up on a WCA or taken over the FWA and made of it a Welsh Workers/Popular Front Army. How different might the ''Sixties'' been not least how different might the Investiture have turned out or maybe a left Militantism would have gone in an entirely different direction toward a Socialist National Welsh Liberation Struggle.

Alternativelly 'WHAT IF?' Wales had witnessed via the 1831 Hirwaun/Merthyr Insurrection the beginnings of a successful Armed Workers Struggle. Then in time a Welsh Workers Army coming into existence in the struggle of the Scotch Cattle led by Edward Morgan who joins with Lewis Lewis to establish such Army of Workers to march on Newport in November 1839 and decisively defeat the forces of British Capitalist Imperialism to then set up a 'Silurian Socialist Republic'.

As result of the establishment of this Southern Welsh Workers Republic, the Welsh Bourgeoisie use the Rebecca Movement of the West to establish their own Welsh Nationalist Army. This Bourgeoisie Welsh Native Neo - Capitalist Movement and Army aided by British Imperialism prepares to moves to take on the Silurian Republic's Workers Army.

Then at Carmarthen the 'Byddin Rebecca' of farmers and small holders faces a mutiny by Peasants & Labourers who seize Carmarthen Work House and declare their own Western 'Peoples Republic'. However, after a two week siege, the Peoples Army begins to see it's resolve crack and are about to surrender, but it is at this moment the Workers Army of the Silurian Peoples Republic marches into Carmarthen and forces 'Byddin Rebecca' to retreat to make a last stand on Mynydd Bach in Ceredigion.

Following on this victory of the Workers and Peasant Armies, they unite into one great Peoples Army and between 1839 and 1848 engage in a popular Armed Struggle to bring into a Socialist Wales, the North and Central Regions of the Country. In 1848 at Merthyr Tudful, the 'Red Commune' there is made a 'National Commune', and Merthyr Tudful becomes Capital of a United Welsh Workers Republic.

Now you take it from there up to present times, taking in Welsh History from 1848 to the present, also if you wish develop the story from 1797 to 1816 up to 1831 to 1848.

F.W.A. THE TRUE STORY or rather what if?

The Truth, I doubt if the truth will ever in our life times come into the public domain and I doubt if it will ever become written history but will ever remain the folk lore Free Wales Army as romantic a myth one day as the other heroes of mists of Cymru. From Gwerin Owain to the Red Bandits of Dinas Mawddwy, Rebeccites and Scotch Cattle to the 'night riders' of Meibion Glyndwr, all now part of a fast disappearing Welsh Nationalist 'Dream of Freedom'. Whatever, I have my truth and others have theirs but lets not get too caught up in worrying the bones of that old carcass of Cymru, instead lets get creative with some 'Alternate History' and let posterity consider be it fact, fiction or fantasy.

So, what if? following FWA Commandant in Chief Cayo Evans surrendering FWA arms to the Special Squad established to hunt down Freedom Fighters of the Welsh Resistance to the Investiture of an Englishman as Prince of Wales, Command Dennis Coslet led a military hard line take over, that saw he take command of the FWA. Whilst the PF/FWA sought no more than some ''Barricades & Bobbies'', Paris'68 style street action in Caernarfon during Investiture week in July of 1969, more hard line FWA elements sought action more along lines of the Easter Rising in Dublin 1916 and in Lithuania during 1923.

What if? this was to be a reality and whilst PF members and other radical patriots broke ranks and continued with their "Barricades & Bobbies" plan to cause chaos to disrupt the Investiture, their ultimate goal being to stop Carlo and entourage et al making it to the Castle, so halting the Investiture. Meanwhile the hard line militarist elements of the Free Wales Army led by Dennis Coslet had taken up positions in Caernarfon Town, from these occupied positions they were preparing for armed action. Upon realising this the authorities had no other option than to order in regiments of the British Army who had been camped in a number of positions around Caernarfon with security issues in mind and the possibility of what was now occurring in Caernarfon town.

Well at least in this What If? story which I and your good selves may develop along two lines, an account of what becomes known as the 1969 Caernarfon FWA insurrection and secondly what would have been the long term outcome on Welsh History up to present. Also consider doing an Alternate History Time Line as per these fictional events as from 1969 to present day. Indeed, really creative patriots may wish to design alternate stamps and money based on this alternate history, do note post soon on concept and realisation of 'Alternate Money' as the United States of Islam etc.
